Carlos met Mags' eye for just a moment and gave a brief nod. While there was something to be said for the thought of getting married, he didn't want the future as presented as well. Even if diverting it might mean risking his own personal happiness.
His brows knit together as Evey started to explain.
"So you're hoping for an outreach program of sorts? Getting to know the people on a personal level and vice versa?"
Some of the Chosen already did such a thing. Mag was one of them. She'd made a few friends in the town. It certainly could work, provided it didn't seem calculated that they all started making more of an effort to be social. And provided that the efforts to create interpersonal connections didn't come at the price of failing to get things done.
