When he smiled she couldn't help but smile too. It was catching, despite the pain she could see in his eyes as he offered the simple gesture.
At the next part she sighed softly, but her smile held true for another moment, "Unfortunately more than I'd like to."
She lifted a hand and cupped one of his cheeks, before leaning in to kiss him gently. She lingered for a moment before pulling back and giving him another look over. "I hate seeing you in here, you know?"
She lifted her head and allowed her eyes to meet his, curious as to how he managed to end up in the hospital. She did worry about him when he was out fighting, but they needed him. And he had a shield he could use, plus any other magic he might possess, so she couldn't really say too much. She was just glad he was moving and speaking. She couldn't bear for anything terrible to happen to him. Not now.
