Edward let out a low groan and tried to open his eyes. That didn't work out so well thanks to the layer of dirt covering his face. He tried to roll over and wipe his face off. This, again, didn't go the way Edward was expecting. He was in the arms of a very tall man. The last thing Ed remembered was reaching for Leeloo's hand. Not being surrounded by rubble was a good thing, but it afforded the boy much more room to react then he had been prepared for. The overreaction to the new setting, so far from being crushed to death, so close to the battle with Dante under Central City had his body primed. The unconscious defensive spam and twist found him falling through the air.
"OW! What the hell?!" Ed was on his ass. His mind raced, but his body was done. He was barely awake and lucky he didn't pass out again. He sat, blinking the dirt from his eyes and trying to take in where he was.
