Evey didn't respond with anything but a wry smile. Showers, indeed. Peter had ever been a gentleman, and the comment didn't warrant a remark. But she did smile when Mouse whined.
"Don't worry, boy," she said, adding her assurance after Harry's. "I just wanted to spend more time with the best pup ever." To Harry's instructions, she nodded. "Growling - get out of the way, got it."
She took a breath, checked in with Peter one more time, then gestured down the dusty street. "Be careful," she said sincerely. The man was half of a whole. She'd gained a deeper respect for that, lately.
