He began to take the items in question out of the bag, taking a moment to figure out the best way to explain it.
"The wards aren't capable of reading minds or hearts, but they manage to tap into all of the more subtle cues that a person might mean you harm. From elevated heart rate to various pheromones that might be released to a few other biological indicators. They should keep out anything that isn't human, though most things that aren't human can't enter without an invitation anyway."
He stopped what he was doing and looked up at Mag.
"Which means that you should be careful about who and what you invite inside. There are things that might be able to mimic the face of another. My face, for example. It won't hurt my feelings one bit if you don't extend a verbal invitation to me in in the future. In fact, that might be safer."
