Judging from the silver-white creatures hounding his steps, it would appear that he'd been seen and was now the object of the stranger's attention. It also unfortunately would seem that he couldn't lose these particular hounds. Coming to a halt on upthrust broken pathway in Iifa's trunk he turned to face the creatures currently slithering through the air toward him. If he couldn't lose them then the only other option really was to remove the threat it presented, perhaps if he did in a suitably impressive manner it would make their master think twice about continuing after him.
Drawing one arm up against him, he focused his sights on the closer of the two creatures as he released the spell, the force of the gesture as well as the explosion of the flare erupting around the thing blowing back the cloak from his face and shoulders. Cursing silently as sudden undeniable exhaustion set into his limbs, he managed to keep his feet though out of sheer stubborn will as to not ruin the image he'd been trying to present to his pursuer.
