Draco Malfoy didn't think he could go through with this if he had told his family in person. He'd probably get talked out of it, for certain. So a letter was what he went for. He explained that he had to do this. To prove he can be good man. And to find out if any of this Hydra group could pose any danger to wizard society, either small threat or large. And? Other reasons were that he just needed to get away from home for a while, from Britain, Hogwarts, just as far from familiarity as he could get, and maybe he would be better once he returned. What he really wanted was a fresh start. And so he had come here as a foreign exchange transfer, not revealing anything in his records about magical skills or heritage. He chose to take Operations. All the technical talking devices were odd and unusual to him. Even more so was all that muggle science, which seemed backwards to magic. Some devices might be nice, but he didn't understand them. But operations? Field work? Working as an agent on the ground, helping troops, assisting allies in combat scenarios? He could understand that branch well enough. The basics, at least.
He had enrolled and then spent the night in a hotel after exploring around the city. And now it was morning. It was a full day before classes began tomorrow. He wondered what his fellow classmates would be like. All American, no doubt. And most certainly all muggles. As well as strangers, none new him or his past. That part was a nice change, made this a good fresh start. He decided to report in, so to speak. Go check out the suite he had been assigned as a student. Maybe see if he was alone or if he was sharing with roommates. So he soon found designation Fury. And then the door, numbered Fury 201. "I suppose this is it," he sighed to himself, opening the door and stepping inside, free hand ready to grab a wand if he weren't alone, or if he wasn't safe. Turned out it was a slight overreaction as he shut the door. There was no one else here. But did that mean he was the only student assigned this suite, or that the others were simply out?
Draco wasn't certain. What he did know, however? He felt better than he had in a long time. No personal baggage. He occasionally missed the school he'd helped to rebuild back up. And also missed, though he didn't admit.. Potter. When he was alone at a meal, or sometimes before he slept, his thoughts would turn to images of his former rival. They weren't enemies. Not best friends, but allies at the least. They had done good work together with the structural restorations. But a nagging part of his subconscious, he'd always wanted more, while not really knowing why. Ah well, that was a former life now. This was a time for new beginnings. After exploring the various room areas, he settled himself down on the couch, taking off his jacket and now wearing just slacks and the button shirt, of which he loosened a button or two so he could breathe. He saw a large square. Blank screen. What was this? He stared confused at it, oblivious to the familiar visitor he was about to get very soon..
