Wand out. Clothes swirling around the air, folding themselves in a frenzy and being shoved into a tiny bag. Loud voices. Each one louder than the last. You're leaving? Tensions mounting. Another wand out. I will end up in Azkaban. They know my name. They know what I am. This mark on my arm has caused me nothing but pain. It has cost me everything that I care about. A shocked expression. More yelling. As if she didn't care about her family any more. Her mother. Her brother. They were still there, she hadn't lost them. Yet they weren't the ones that were dead. Counter spell. Clothes shoot out of the bag, struggling to go both places. The closet and the bag. Lost in a twisted mess. Haven't I paid enough for everyone's sins in this house? He was in her face then, struggling to understand how his twin was just going somewhere because she was so afraid of being locked up in that place, or worse - a good death. She scoffed. There was no such thing as a good death, not when she wanted to die for these people any more. Everything I've ever done was for you, so that you wouldn't have to do it. What have you sacrificed for this war? Not a fucking thing. His hand touched her arm and the world exploded. Chairs cracked in half. Spells whistling through the air. A flash of red. Her body hitting the wall. Her fist hitting his face. She had never fought with her brother before. Not like his. Is this because he's dead? Is that why you're really going? TELL ME. Rage sent through her arm, wand flickering. A word shouted through the heavens. There was no going back from this. From the moment it left her fingertips, she knew. This was where it ended. Her arm shook and in the end, her aim was off. The shock of the spell being released caused her to pause for only one moment. Only one look of horror across her face. He snapped in retaliation. Clothes fell to the ground in a heap, no longer folding themselves, or being put back on the shelf. As they fell to the ground, the world silent. He stared as his sister. At last. Noise. Caw. Black wings fluttered and landed beside him. Black beady eyes peered back at him. The crow tilted its head, and stared at him. She knew. |
