[ When she had come to, the snow had been falling down fast around her, flurrying about her face. Her thick cloak had proved futile against the wind and the cold, and she knew she had to find shelter and fast.
Like a wish in a dream, a large inn came into view, its lights inviting -- a promise of warmth, even perhaps a meal, and maybe some company. As she reached for the brass knocker, the door had opened on its own, as if expecting her. Despite the unmistakable presence of others, it was as if her feet knew where they were going; pad, pad padding on the plush carpet in the hall, up the curved stairs and into a dim red-and-black colored corridor.
Her hand finds a door that opened to her touch, and shut once she steps in. She does not tardy in making her way towards the fire, kneeling to warm her hands and letting the cloak pool about the floor. She was however, not mindful if there were other occupants in the room -- slumbering on the bed, or perhaps making use of the baths... ]

[It was one of those world-changing places again -- and this one was more enclosed, with plush carpeting and drapery. A piano piece idly played in the background as the sparse patrons went around -- perhaps they had other places and parties to go to...
Unlike the lone figure at the bar, a long island iced tea in hand. She was all dressed up with nowhere to go in her red gown, and her hair held up in bobby pins with a lone pale pink pink peony. And from the looks of the line-up of varied empty glasses at the table top, she had quite a number of drinks already.
... but she didn't show signs of stopping as she sipped at the iced tea with gusto.
After all, it was New Year's Eve.]
