Villainess

One of my friends introduced me to Villainess (dot net, mind you!). I'm not entirely sure about the soaps yet, but I haven't had a chance to use anything other than the samples yet and they're not entirely accurate is my guess. I have a hard time getting them to lather, but will have a better idea once we move into the new house and I can have some room in the shower!

(I LOVE their whipped! and smooches!)

Antihero - Summer O5
Who doesn't love a badass, brooding antihero? Well-worn sweaty leather, the acrid smoke of cigarettes, and a soft side of honey and vanilla.
This is a sample, but it does have hints of goodness. Mmm, mmm.

Looking forwarding to trying out the bigger bars soon!

Mad Tea Party

THE LION
The dry, glorious warmth of the Savannah. A golden, spiced amber, proud, regal and ferocious.

MAD HATTER
A gentlemen's lavender-citron cologne unhinged by the feral pungence of black musk and a paroxysm of pennyroyal.

MARCH HARE
A twisted teatime tart: apricot and sweet clove.

FRUMIOUS BANDERSNATCH
"Beware the Jabberwock, my son!
The jaws that bite, the claws that catch!
Beware the Jubjub bird, and shun
The frumious Bandersnatch!"

Bandersnatch musk, redolent of spicy carnations, wild plums and chrysanthemum.

Mad Tea Party

Are the smaller batches better? I'm not sure. Kind of a pain to post them in little batches, but so much nicer in making comments and reading the description. So, we'll keep testing it. ;D

Mad Tea Party

ALICE
Curiouser and curiouser. Milk and honey with rose, carnation and bergamot.

THE CATERPILLAR
Heavy incense notes waft lazily through a mix of carnation, jasmine, bergamot, and neroli over a lush bed of dark mosses, iris blossom, deep patchouli and indolent vetiver.

CHESHIRE CAT
Grapefruit, red currant, dark musk, Roman chamomile, delphinium, and lavender.

A couple

ETERNAL
Though they go mad they shall be sane,
Though they sink through the sea
they shall rise again;
Though lovers be lost love shall not;
And death shall have no dominion.

Stephanotis, cyclamen, heliotrope, white rose and gardenia.

HAUNTED
A mournful, poignant scent, thick with foreboding. Soft golden amber darkened with a touch of murky black musk.

Dec 07 lunacy update

OLD MOON
The cold earth slept below;
Above the cold sky shone;
And all around,
With a chilling sound,
From caves of ice and fields of snow
The breath of night like death did flow
Beneath the sinking moon.

The wintry hedge was black;
The green grass was not seen;
The birds did rest
On the bare thorn's breast,
Whose roots, beside the pathway track,
Had bound their folds o'er many a crack
Which the frost had made between.

Thine eyes glow'd in the glare
Of the moon's dying light;
As a fen-fire's beam
On a sluggish stream
Gleams dimly-so the moon shone there,
And it yellow'd the strings of thy tangled hair,
That shook in the wind of night.

The moon made thy lips pale, belov'd;
The wind made thy bosom chill;
The night did shed
On thy dear head
Its frozen dew, and thou didst lie
Where the bitter breath of the naked sky
Might visit thee at will.

A dark, still winter's night. The cold, white moon shines on frozen ground dusted with silent snow: evergreen, juniper, winterberry holly, bayberry, Viking black chokeberry, hemlock, and yew, ice-rimed, gilded by traditional lunar herbs and flowers.

AQUARIUS 2007
Fixed air: the essence of idealism.

Wisteria, myrrh, anise, galbanum, bryony, and pomegranate.

Sept 07 lunacy update

BEAVER MOON
Traditionally, Beaver Moon is named thus for a very obvious reason: during this time of year, beavers are hard at work building their dams and preparing for the onset of winter. However, we at BPAL rarely let an opportunity for sleazy campiness pass us by!

For your pleasure and amusement, we present this year's incarnation of Beaver Moon: wild cherry with vanilla cream accord, and a hint of strawberry.

Mod post

Sheesh. Transferring posts over to the new journal is a bit of a pain, especially since I've decided to put my actual comments in the comment section. So, after I finish up the posts will probably be a lot shorter!! Otherwise there is a ton of comments on one entry, and in theory in the future more people will be able to add their comments and it'll be a mess to scroll through.

We'll see how less scents in a post goes, anyway! ;D
