Vines of tension were strangling her heart, stealing her breath with each silent moment passing. She almost choked on the question in shock, oxygen returning to her lungs with a slow pull. Pale cheeks were coming back to life with color and unshed tears evaporated before they could fall. Was she really hearing this? Had all the fear and guilt been in vain? Not entirely. There was something about herself she would never trust, a part she would always worry about that might harm the girl she loved and perhaps it wasn’t the demonic influence at all. “Yea,” a still shaking voice murmured as the slayer became thoughtful. Was the worst yet to come? The slayer could still blow a gasket but emotionally distraught as the Empath remained, she couldn’t imagine Kel doing so. It added another layer of confusion to this whole mess. Was she wrong to worry about Kelsey’s reaction? Dark eyes descended upon her and though still twisted in knots she murmured, “partially. The rest has been me failing to understand you. . .which is something I’m working on.”
