Emma brought her free hand up to massage the other temple in perfect sync with the other as she collected her thoughts. Why was she pushing this so much? ‘I just want her to have the same things I do. But I can’t force it on her.’ Kelsey was right. She hadn’t hurt or threatened anyone that the Telepath was aware of, so she was doing a pretty good job thus far. What more could she realistically ask? Anger was steadily rising in the slayer but the Empath was emotionally shot. She didn’t want to fight anymore and longed for a moment of peace between them. Once Kelsey was done speaking, her weak voice arose, “I’m sorry Kel. I want to encourage you and instead I’m being a pushy bitch. Can. . .we just drop it? I don’t want to fight anymore.” The Empath hadn’t realized just how overbearing she was being until the slayer pointed it out. She knew things about people nobody else could tell at a glance and having that advantage blinded her to ‘normal’ human communication from time to time. Continuing the motions with her hands, she began to train her breathing in hopes that would calm her. She wasn’t angry anymore but there was plenty of rage floating around the hotel, for a million different reasons, that was wearing down on her barriers. Perhaps the stress of feeling everyone’s emotions was weighing down on her.
