Kelsey: Kel attempted to remain in control of her thoughts and emotions, not wanting to leap to any sort of conclusion before Emma responded. Then again could this delay in a response be a response in it self? Could Emma be ready to bolt from her grasp? Could the girl be readying her elf for some sort of retreat? The slow reply caused a pause in the slayers breathing as she didn’t even realize she was holding her breath. Waiting the words seemed hesitant, and Kel became more nervous. Had she just over stepped a line? Was Emma going to act one way right now and another later? Would the Emapth once they went for their next meal, not let Kel back in her room again? …Why did all of this matter so much? It wouldn’t be the first person that Kel had fucked around with for a bit and then either they or her had left.
Finally breathing again once the Empath finished speaking the slayer slowly nodded. Was this Emma’s way of nicely saying ‘no way in hell’? Though Emma’s admittance of ‘never being in love’ brought a new curiosity to her mind. Realistically what Katherine had explained to her made very little sense, since when did love involve warm fuzzies, elevated heart beats and funny thoughts? Last thing the baby slayer knew love involved beatings and fucking and… none of that had happened with Emma. Katherine claimed however though that it sounded like the “L” word regardless. “Mmm.” A vocalization that sounded like a wordless ‘I dunno’ was given before she fell silent again for a period. After letting a moment or two go by Kel had summed up enough thoughts and pushed aside enough self doubt to manage something. “Me either. Uh, in love I mean. Never been.”
Emma: A part of her wondered what else the older woman had said to Kelsey and what symptoms her girlfriend had described. She was tugged back to the conversation a second later, pushing thoughts aside for whenever they could be properly sorted. Leaning away from her lover enough to stare down into her eyes, the Empath’s lips parted but words caught in her throat. She probably looked quite silly grasping for words like she was but after a deep breath words floated past her lips. "If-if it is. . ." she gave the girl a warm smile. "I hope it lasts forever. Isn’t that what all those novels and stuff preach about? But. . .um. . .I mean it. I’ll always want you in my life and um. . .maybe that’s what it’s all about. Don’t quote me on that though. I’m um, I’m new at this." Gazing down at her girl, she wondered what love was like for everyone else. She and Kelsey both had a view on the emotion that conflicted with other’s ideas, so perhaps it was all perception? She made it a point to discuss this matter at her next class with Tara.
Kelsey: Slowly Emma began to pull back and it seemed like Kel had her answer. Her jaw locked slightly as she prepared for the blow with a hard swallow and letting her arms drop away from the Empath slightly. The smile Kel wondered if it was the red head’s attempt at breaking things gently to her, though she felt a smile of her own tugging at the corners of her mouth. At the next words Kel blinked. Had Emma just said…?.... For…ever? Suddenly Kel felt shocked, dazed and like that little fuzzy chest beast had returned for full revenge and brought a buddy along with him. Being caught completely speechless lips fell agape as eyes wondered over the Empath’s body before slowly meeting the other woman’s gaze. Words had sunk in fully and that was the majority of the reason for the lacking of words.
Finally being able to muster some form of reaction other then the flood of emotions Kel managed a nod. “That’s what all those romance movies always said that Brooke liked.” Falling silent again for a moment Kel’s eyes wondered off, thoughts coming up to taunt her that hadn’t been present before. “So.. what about Liz then?... You, uh, didn’t, um, you know… love her?”
