Well, there's not long left to go and I'm pretty antsy to get this season underway. I've never liked being one of the last teams out of the blocks - always preferred getting on the scoring table early, even though it evens out eventually. Don't really know why, but I still think it helps.

On other notes, the dog has been going mental for this weather. Even though he glares at me for actually letting him out into the garden, he'll still paw at the doors until out they go. I found to my peril yesterday that he's a big fan of the paddling pool that one of the neighbours put out for their kids...

It's the anticipation. It's murder.

Yeah, I'm not sure who taught who how to get out of the garden, but clearly our dogs are a bad influence on each other.

It's like I was saying to Darce the other day, the training flights just aren't the same.

Toby is a pup, so...

Not even a little. Sure, you learn the motions, but ultimately they're your team and they're on your side.

And it's totally possible to teach an older dog new tricks.

Game context and having a particular scenario to fly against is what makes it tick, really.

He would have to have picked it up from somewhere...

Did he try to rescue the kids from swimming? Because let me tell you, kids aren't very forgiving when you ruin their swimming time.

Nope, he just jumped right on in with them and joined in their game of chase, as far as I could tell.

Then what's the harm in that? He didn't scare one of the younglings did he?

You know this means you have to buy him a paddling pool for himself.
