Sorry, Heidi. Someone got the scoop before you did. I was caught leaving a hair salon this evening in Sleaford. Attached is the photo.

Now, who wants to have a community breakfast this week? I could host, but it would be a bit small considering how much we all love flapjacks. Don't everyone volunteer at once! You must bring a dish. No exceptions. NO MIMOSAS.

1) How dare you scoop me?
2) I refuse to be seen at any brunch party that doesn't serve mimosas.
3) Your hair looks amazing.

1. I did it secretly and failed.
2. Bring your own mimosas, then.
3. Thanks. I've envied you for decades.

I'm sorry, do you have any idea the sheer amount of ingredients that are needed for mimosas? You need champagne, orange juice, orange segments, champagne flutes. I cannot possibly be made to be responsible of it all.

That is really too, too much for me to handle, and I'm shocked you would even say it.

I'm shocked as well. I don't even have more than two fancy glasses.

I have a set of six that my mum gave me when I moved into my flat. I think she did it in the hopes I would have dinner parties and invite her over, but who has time for that?

Anyway, obviously I will be at the brunch. What do you need me to do?

Oh yes, bring those! I think I washed them once. I'll buy the juice and orange segments, we'll sucker someone else into bringing the champ.

I could also do toast! I have bread and jam! I have strawberry jam, apricot jam, cherry preserves, orange and lemon marmalade, fig preserves, and red currant jam. Oh, and gooseberry! Can't forget that.

Holy moses, Heidi. Are you doing jam of the month?

You know how much I love toast, Matilda. Toast is the perfect food. Crunchy, sweet, filling. What more could you want?

I am so proud of your membership. Your love of toast helped me lose those stubborn ten pounds after Hogwarts!

Oh dear. I shan't do it too often or my reputation will be ruined.

However, mimosas, screwdrivers, or Bloody Marys are required drinking for brunch.

See, the thing I like about Bloody Marys is that if you do it right you can basically consider it a full meal. And with mimosas and screwdrivers, you're getting your vitamin C!

I do believe all this praise will be going to my over inflated ego. Or so I've been told about the ego.
