My grandmother keeps sending me books on embroidery as if this is the middle ages and that's all a woman is good for. I've decided to return the favor by sending her unlabeled chocolate-covered insects. Petty might be my new middle name.

And yet acknowledging that doesn't help me in the slightest as it would help most with cycloptic children missing one arm.

Maybe, but most people don't realise this. Most people are idiots.

This is true on both counts but what's the point of rehashing the same conversation of how dense most people are?

Because it makes me feel better about myself. Now that feelings time is over. what other creepy-cool things do you have on your desk?

Fair enough. I've recently acquired a sculpture in a bell jar of a tree and a graveyard made of human hair.

I've....acquired nothing. I am going book hunting later.

How are you with old, twitchy, Japanese men?

Honestly, it's never come up. Probably the same as I am with most everyone though - incredibly Scottish.

You can come if you want, just don't ask me to translate.

Best not. I like to know when people are insulting me. Why would I ask you to translate, though? Isn't Jiang a Chinese surname? Why would you know Japanese? Even still, I don't know if you're multilingual at all.

It is, but I actually know more Japanese than Chinese. Learned enough of it when I was at Mahoutokoro to allow me a passable conversation about esoteric knowledge but not to order sushi at a restaurant.

Go fucking figure. You really should learn to order food though. I'd think that would be a far more common conversation than esoteric--no, nevermind. With you, the exact opposite is true.

I don't like sushi anyway. Too fishy.

... Of course, it's too fishy. It's bloody fish, isn't it?

But I don't eat fish. It doesn't always agree with me. Werewolf not werebear.

Natural wolves eat fish all the time. Don't give me that nonsense.

Your stomach is a baby. Fish is good for you. A nice light fry-up with some chips. Mmm! Actually, I might make that now...

Yeah, tell that to my stomach when it decided that bananas were the devil's handiwork when I was seven.

Sensitivities to the high amounts of potassium in bananas are actually very common. Sensitivities to flat out fish are not.

That was only the first of many. You're not my mother, stop harassing me about my diet. My mother does enough of that for the both of you.

Hopefully, I will never have to say this again: I agree with your mother.
