It has certainly been a bit of a learning curve, playing in a new league, with a new team. That last game was not how I intended to start my career in the BIL, that's for sure, but I think that it's safe to say that Kenmare is going to be turning over a new leaf. I'm pretty sure I haven't run drills this hard even on a World Cup year.

That said, now that I'm on this side of Europe, what is one thing British/Irish that I absolutely need to experience?

That is a very good question for us foreigners. One thing I did learn is that they generally don't like being called Brits unless their English. Otherwise it's Scots and Welsh.

Interesting! I suppose it makes sense though. Call a Ukranian a Russian and there will be hell to pay.

But I reckon you should probably see the key sites in London. Stonehenge. Things like that.

Oh! Stonehenge! Yes!

I've yet to properly visit London. I'm a bit overwhelmed by the idea.

I have a checklist, which pretty much only gets checked off when family is visiting..

I think my family has seen it all at this point. I'm the outlier.

Is the checklist well-received?

Oh, you think I created the checklist? I'm sorry for the misunderstanding, but it definitely came from one of the sister in laws.

Oh no. Sisters in law tend to make things difficult to assert dominance. I would not trust this checklist.

They're not so bad. The checklists or the sisters in law. I guess it helps they are an ocean away. Absence makes the heart grow fonder?

I can confirm this is true.

So I do not mind so much and my nephews more than make up for it all.

Don't eat muggle chocolate, it all tastes bitter. Just best to avoid it. That's my contribution.

I heard it's practically all powdered sugar.

It is, and it tastes like sick. It's terrible.

Well that depends entirely on your interests. For example, I happen to greatly enjoy both the muggle store Harrods and the London Science Museum, but I have been informed that my interests do not correspond to others'. I have been reliably informed that the Victoria and Albert Museum is a pleasant diversion.

Do you enjoy theatre and the arts? Because drinks in a pub and tickets to a West End show are pretty straightforward, and something good to share with friends.

It's not as though you have to rush it, which is part of the beauty. It's the sort of evening one can be time-flexible with, really.

Get yourself up to Scotland. The Highlands and Islands get lost when people talk about the beauty of the rest of the UK and Ireland.
