WHO: Aidan Lynch, Vikor Krum, ALL THE NPCs
WHAT: Aidan & Viktor go before the BIL Tribunal.
WHEN: Monday October 8th
WHERE: BIL Headquarters, Bloomsbury
SUMMARY: Shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaame The seekers face the music.
RATINGS/WARNING: Self indulgent NPCs
STATUS: Closed/complete
NOTE: Only the plea and penalty are made available to the press and will constitute public knowledge
Mod note: This is how formal discipline hearings will go in game. If something public (like Aidan/Viktor's fight) happens in game, a similar process will happen for your characters, as well ad adjusting CP accordingly.
HEARING ONE
Player: Viktor Krum
Charged with: Excessively rough conduct, brawling on pitch.
Referee submitting pensieve memories: Dunbar Oglethorpe
Plea: Guilty
Player’s statement:
“I wasn’t expecting an attack from a professional player that is so well respected. I was there to play and to do my job, and leaving personal problems off the pitch is what I’ve understood to be the standard for professional behavior. Being attacked mid-air in pursuit of the snitch was a shock, and I reacted in the moment. Natural instincts to defend myself took over in the shock of being tackled on my broom. I would ask you to take that into consideration. In hindsight, I should have withdrawn, or allowed the referees to interject. I am not proud of engaging with him, and I regret it.”
Tribunal member views:
Dai Llewellyn: They got knocked about a bit, but it’s not like anyone disappeared mid-match, and Krum didn’t even start this in the first place. Recommendation: 25 galleon fine, and that bludger hit he copped was enough.
Violet Pennifold: I don't care if Mr. Krum was defending himself. The fact is that he retaliated and if that bludger hadn't interfered, then who knows how this might have ended. We cannot condone acts of violence, no matter who starts it. Recommendation: 1 game suspension.
Hassan Mostafa: It appears that Mr. Krum was defending himself. That said, players should rise above such displays and remain good influences on young players, particularly children in the stands. Mr. Krum is an elite level player and should have been calmer in his response to Mr. Lynch's aggression. Recommendation: Community Service, 25 galleon fine.
Josephine Marat: Krum should have known better, but he did not instigate the fracas. It was a poor reaction, but truly only that. Disappointing to see a player of such calibre lose his composure in such a way, but not an act worthy of suspension. Recommendation: Community service, 50 galleon fine, public statement apologising for his behaviour
Tiberius Whittemore: That fool Lynch straight up went after him. What was Krum supposed to do, roll over and take it? Be knocked from his broom? He didn't do anything any other player would have done. I'd have knocked his damn teeth in. Recommendation: Not a goddamn thing.
Penalty: Community service, 25 galleon fine

HEARING TWO
Player: Aidan Lynch
Charged with: Excessively rough conduct, brawling on pitch, instigating violence.
Referee submitting pensieve memories: Dunbar Oglethorpe
Plea: Guilty
Player’s statement:
"I know what I did was wrong. I have no excuse for my actions, except to say that my rivalry with Krum got out of hand, and for that, I'm sorry. I know better than to bring personal grudges onto the pitch, but on Saturday evening, in the heat of the moment, I forgot that. I swear it won't happen again. I certainly never intended for something like this to happen, and I am as shocked as you are that it did."
Tribunal member views:
Dai Llewellyn: Boys will be boys. Sure, Lynch got a little out of hand, but this is a rough game. Get him to talk about his shit little issue, but don’t let’s demonise the man. He’s got a great track record, world cup win under his belt, and I don’t think we'll see this from him again. Recommendation: Community Service, apology to Krum, 1 game suspension
Violet Pennifold: Quidditch is a dangerous sport, we all know that, but players shouldn't have to worry about attacks from fellow players. Pushing and shoving is one thing, but this was an overt attack for no reason that I can see. The World Cup was four years ago now. That rivalry is no excuse. Mr. Lynch really should know better. Recommendation: 2 game suspension, 200 galleon fine.
Hassan Mostafa: It is unbecoming to a player of this level, particularly a player who was a World Cup winner and who should set a standard and example for younger players, to be behaving in such an appalling manner. We need to make an example so that such things never occur again! Recommendation: 2 game suspension, 100 galleon fine.
Josephine Marat: Such actions, and from a World Cup winner at that, threaten to bring the game into disrepute. Lynch’s actions undermine the nobility of the sport, and given that he has just been named captain, requires some time out to think seriously about his attitude, priorities and role in the public eye. Recommendation: 2 game suspension, 100 galleon fine, public apology to Krum.
Tiberius Whittemore: Lynch was a straight up bitch. Recommendation: 2 game suspension.
Penalty: 2 game suspension, 100 galleon fine, and a public apology to Mr. Krum.
