"Yeah, we're playing Christmas Eve," Oliver replied with a slight nod. He wasn't really looking forward to it, especially since they've been doing so fucking badly lately and it wasn't likely to improve since he literally had about half an hour after the game to have a shower, get changed, pick up his presents and floo over to his parents house in Scotland. Which would be covered in snow. He tried really hard to let the game take him over and forget about everything else but it was far harder than he had originally hoped for. In fact, it seemed that every year it became worse and worse. Oliver was always fearful of the fact that one year it'd just take him over completely.
Taking a rather large sip of his drink, Oliver sat the pint back down. "Do you go to games much? Or is it work, work, work mostly?" He could see how it might be, majority of the times he had been in the Snitch it had always been absolutely packed and they didn't seem to have that many bar staff. Oliver didn't really have any idea about how you ran a pub, he honestly had never done anything but Quidditch, which wasn't exactly something to be proud of but at least he was fucking good at it, right?
Oliver hadn't been on a date in a very long time and even before that, he hadn't been very good at dates. For a moment he pondered in his head what it was he tended to do wrong and the only thing that he could think of was that Oliver really wasn't open about himself. It never came easily to him to open up, in fact, Oliver wasn't convinced that even his closest friends knew him very well. With the exception of his siblings, Oliver never really told people about his life. He presumed that that did have the ability to put a downer on a relationship.
After a moments consideration, Oliver spoke up again. "Apparently I don't date enough, so my friends tell me," he said to Lia. "You're pretty and seemingly not socially retarded. What is the appropriate amount of dates to have and is there appropriate amount?" She did seem lovely, so Oliver had no doubt that Lia got asked out more often than she could say yes.
