Serious wasn't her strongest suit and she knew the second she saw his eyes that he didn't believe he was going to be different. It broke her heart a little bit to see him like that, seeing anyone like that would hurt her. She knew the Flint family didn't have the happiest of upbringings but she also knew that people could rise above from where they were born. She'd seen it happen and she knew that if he wanted to be different from his father he could be. It was that simple for her.
Lavender moved the hand that had been on his chin to his cheek. "I don't believe that." She said simply trying to make it clear that she didn't think he would. "You're not your father. Do you think your father would even say that to someone?" She asked unsure of the answer but she had a feeling he probably wouldn't, otherwise why would he be so scared of ending up like him. She moved her other hand away from her hair and instead started to brush her fingers softly though his hair on his right side. Maybe something comforting was the right answer? Lavender didn't know.
