Adrian was making this into mess that it really didn't need to be. Was he going to run into complications when his father found out he was dating someone who wasn't a) a pureblood and b) a pureblood? Yes, most likely. Should it matter? Really, not. This was the thing that Terence struggled to get to grips with. Given, for someone who had grown up in the most liberal of families, the situation Adrian was in was very hard to understand. Not that Terence didn't try. He did, but he also failed to understand just why Adrian couldn't stand up to his father and actually do what he wanted. Money surely wasn't the issue because Adrian was playing at a league level and if it was the relationship with his father he didn't want to ruin, well...
"Ade, I'm not trying to be a dick about this, but..." which you know was going to be a good start. It was like those sentences that started with 'I'm not a racist, but...'. "You need to stop over thinking this. Okay, so you don't want to date her because of the complications it may bring. Fine. Don't date her, then. This isn't a life or death situation," Terence said leaning back in his chair. It really wasn't this important. This was over a girl. Adrian was throwing a dramatic fit over a girl. Terence had had a baby with a girl and it hadn't been half as dramatic. Given, of course, she had been pureblood. He was tempted to roll his eyes at that thought. Surely they had left this pity blood thing behind them back in school.
"Why don't you just get married to a pureblood and have a miserable marriage during which you cheat on your wife constantly?" Terence asked with a sigh. "I mean, that is what you seem to think your life will be, anyway, so might as well start now. I'm sure if you tried real hard you might even find a pureblood girl who you don't hate."
