Adrian followed the sound of her voice, moving through the house until he found her at the bottom of the stairs. He would have preferred not to feel anything at all, but that wasn't entirely what happened. It could have just been the fact that he had a certain issue with seeing woman in pain, but he could have sworn she looked even smaller as she looked up at him with watery eyes.
He waved off her thanks, feeling extremely uncomfortable about it. "It's nothing," he muttered, dropping down beside her. Her ankle looked terribly already. He was sure she hadn't been down on the floor too long. He'd been hoping it had just been an easy sprain, something he could handle himself, but this was something he didn't dare heal in case he further damaged it. "Is it just your ankle?" he asked, taking the moment to meet her eyes. Silently he was preparing himself for what he was going to have to do. The very thought of it had his stomach turning violently.
