He really didn't like the fact that he felt a little guilty for his comments. She was the one being unfair and judging the lot of them without really knowing them. He doubted she'd had a conversation with half the blokes on the team. "Maybe, but I don't personally think you believe that," he commented with a sigh and (uncharacteristically) running a hand through his hair.
"A word of advice," he started, taking a moment to watch her. He wasn't trying to be rude, or mean, or any other ridiculous description. "You'll do much better in this position if you don't hold things we haven't yet done against us." It was frustrating to think that she thought they'd cause nothing but trouble.
"Perhaps it would be better if I arrange for you to speak to Lia, yourself," he suggested, offering her a shrug. He'd come in there thinking he was doing a good thing both for Emma and Lia, but clearly he'd been wrong to assume so. "You can let her know what would be appropriate for this particular venue."
