Alicia had been doing her best to avoid Miles, even as they passed by each other, but apparently, this place had different plans. “What the-” "Fucks sake!" Miles hissed. Alicia winced as they sat down hard and were pushed against a table. She looked around, where the hell did all of this come from? When the note cards appeared, with unnecessary force, she looked over at Miles with an equal amount of confusion and irritation. She glanced down at the cards and looked at the question while Miles' arms strained to lift his body out of the chair. His legs were still capable of moving - but his bum… was stuck. Giving up with a growl of frustration and an arm flail he glanced around the street as if someone would save him "Oh no, hell no. What kind of cliche questions-” Alicia paused as she read some of them off. Her outrage was the only reason Miles looked at his cards at all. A scowl crept up as he asked, "What are these for?" “I have no idea,” she answered coolly. “They look like cliche questions you’d ask on a date.” Aggravated, she put the cards down on the table and copied Miles in his attempt to get out of the chair. “No, I’m not doing this,” she muttered. “This is not a date.” "Obviously," Miles' brow furrowed. "If it were you wouldn't be wearing that and we'd have some fuckin' drinks to get through it at least." He glanced around the street as if a waiter would be by soon. Alicia stared at him, trying to figure out if he was being serious or not. She let out a laugh. “Please do not lecture me on current outfits. I do not care what advice an adult man-child has to offer.” She rolled her eyes at him. His eyes narrowed and he leaned into the table, "I wasn't giving advice was I? Now let me go, you twisted shebat." He attempted to push himself from the table… the chair shook but did not move. “I’m not doing anything,” she snapped back. “I’m just as stuck as you are, you pig-headed idiot.” His glare melted into him, placing his forehead on the table. He lightly banged his head and exhaled loudly. Leaning back in his chair he looked at Alicia as if considering something. He said nothing. As she watched him, her mouth opened slightly but then closed immediately and decided that yes, sitting in silence would be much better. However, there wasn’t much to distract her other than the cards, so she picked them up again and read quietly through the questions. However long it took for them to get out of this, she could be patient, she could wait it out. Unfortunately, Miles could not. Patience was never his thing. As Alicia thumbed through her cards Miles blurted, "Well, go on, ask me one then." Alicia stared at him and glared. “Fine,” she snapped. Not even looking at the cards, being positive it wasn’t written down, she asked. “Do you always have to be such a prat?” “Are you always this dramatic?” “Says the man that just banged his head against the table,” she muttered. “Fine.” She picked a card at random and read: “Do you have any recurring dreams or nightmares?” Miles shook his head, “I don’t remember my dreams.” “That must be nice.” There was even a small amount of sincerity - Miles didn’t acknowledge it. There were a number of times that Alicia wished she wouldn’t remember her dreams, especially the nightmares. He quickly read off one of his cards, “What did you want to be when you were younger?” Alicia let out a heavy sigh. “A Quidditch player.” “If you could live anywhere in the world, where would it be?” “London,” Miles answered bluntly. “Don’t much like doing the foreign tourist dance.” He was a simple sort of chap when you pulled back the layers, really. “Doesn’t get much better than London.” Alicia agreed. Though there were plenty of places she would like to visit, it'd be difficult for her to picture herself anywhere but London. He nodded, unimpressed with her banter as he tossed out one of the questions and then smirked at the next. “When was the last time you broke someone’s heart?” Alicia shifted uncomfortably but did her best to not give Miles any ammo. “When name and I broke up. It was his decision, so I don’t know if I actually broke his heart, but he certainly made it seem like it was my doing.” Alicia was then quick to add. “What skill do you wish you had?” Ignoring the question Miles narrowed his eyes and asked, “What’d you do to him then?” “Why do you automatically assume I did anything?” She asked him. “He says he didn’t think I was into the relationship as much as he was and he didn’t like how I worked late most weeknights.” Not that it was any of Miles’ business, but whatever it’d take to make this go by quicker. “What a pussy,” Miles rolled his eyes and quickly lost interest. While Alicia wasn’t exactly a fan of using that as a way to describe a shitty person, she really didn’t want to waste her breath on an argument, wording aside, she very much agreed. Leaning back in his chair he pointed at her question card and said, “Oh and I’ve got all the skills I want. ” He wasn’t going to tell her anything that would make him seem weaker. All she could do was roll her eyes, because of course someone as cocky as him would give an answer like that. Miles threw out two more questions before tossing the card to her and asking, “Describe your best first kiss.” “Easy, Lee.” Not that she wanted to give much more information. Miles snorted at the answer. They weren’t/never dated officially, but it was a particular night where she was having a bad night and Lee, being able to set-aside jokes, was there for her as an amazing friend. It had been more of a friendly kiss than romantic, but she didn’t feel the need to mention that part. “What would you do if your parents didn’t like your partner?” Miles narrowed his eyes at the question, “Date ‘em anyway.” He answered honestly. “They don’t like the women I bring around much so… fuck ‘em,” he shrugged without much remorse. Wow, an answer that didn’t make Alicia want to vomit. Surprising. She bit down on her tongue to stay silent, but only offered a small smile and a nod. A brief beat passed and the tables and chairs they’d been forced into quickly lifted up and vanished without much explanation. Alicia stumbled slightly before catching her balance. Miles glanced around before landing back at Alicia’s smaller frame. “Well, that was a waste of time, see ya around Spinnet,” he stepped around her and carried on his way. She did a half-wave and turned towards the direction she initially was headed. “Hopefully not,” she answered back. A grin crossed Miles's face, but he didn’t bother to turn around for her to see. Instead, he waved and kept walking. |
