"Hello, Katherine," Addison greeted civilly. It was his usual greeting when being bumped into, whether it be intentional or in Katherine's case -and he knew this for certain- it be unintentional. After all, seven years at Hogwarts had proved that he was one of the last people she would actually want to talk to. Well, scratch that. She would talk to him if it was to berate him, picking on a old battle or some new event that he had witnessed and had not been a party to but because he was there, it automatically made it his fault. But for casual conversation or to be rescued from high society elitists? No, he figured she would much rather try breaking the other foot of the secretary's aide.
It had been almost two years since they graduated, and he thought they would have seen the last of each other. After all, she was going to the Prophet, and he was going to do a short internship with the Ministry's Department of International Magical Cooperation. It was a year to be spent making contacts and such, as he didn't dabble in other departments like Elizabeth and numerous others had, and he didn't think it would extend into another year. But he had found he had a remarkably good repertoire for the position, advancing from intern to one of the Greek Ambassador's aides in his year, and deciding to stay to see what other opportunities would present themselves. He still learned to manage his family's estate through his father during his previous summers, but as he wouldn't be taking over those matters for years to come, working at the Ministry was a good endeavor to keep himself occupied.
"You're looking well," he continued with a small smile. It was polite and it was manners and he didn't eye her with any sort of smirk or hidden agenda. Granted, he was a tad curious, but any sort of emotion wasn't shown with years to prefect his countenance. "I didn't know you covered this sort of news for the Prophet."
