Dude, on the forums for an online pet site I frequent, someone (with awful spelling, incidentally) made a post that there should be consequences for inbreeding like hip displacia (fuck I seriously can't spell that, sorry) or ADHD. Immediately, of course, people pointed out that ADHD has nothing to do with inbreeding and they were quite offended. The OP's response was something along the lines of "well try being called a hermaphrodite!" (apparently because people thought they were a male roleplaying female dolphins or something, I couldn't follow the explanation.)
Considering just a few days ago on the same forum someone actually said "Note: I don't count homosexuals and people who've had sex changes as hermaphrodites", in all seriousness, as though this was something that actually needed to be said because it was a common belief, I kind of had to point out that they didn't have the corner on being hurt by people's idiocy. >.>
Er. Not that being a hermaphrodite is a bad thing, obviously, but the fact that people are lumping in sexuality, gender identity and a medical sex/condition/thing is quite offensive to me. Makes me feel like "normal" people are trying to box me as a freak.
