*Marathons Gone Wild, 507*

Again, a HUGE thanks to qafmaniac for this exceptionally beautiful banner and for icons for our Marathons Gone Wild. &hearts

Now that Insane Journal seems to be back to "normal" and I can finally access the site, it's time to dig deep and delve into the disaster that is 507. Actually, I'm not as nervous about it as I was, thanks to some great insight from 505 and 506 from all of you! I think 506 is at the TOP of my most-reviled episodes now and I'm glad to have that one out of the way...

Brian seems so much less distant and angry than the last time we saw the two of them together at the loft...and Justin's actually talking TO him.

"Damned if I know." The look on Brian's face just *screams* ILY to me, even though he can't disagree with Justin.

And then when he walks over to him...I dunno, that just guts me. And I always think, for just a second, after Justin says, "I'll figure it out," that he's about to change his mind.

But he doesn't.

This episode is what drove me to seek out QAF info on the interwebz for the very first time in 4+ years of watching. That's how devastating this was to me the first time around. I felt frantic and had to find out what happened next. But at least one good thing came from 507....I found fandom and the rest is history!

One other note....I find the acting in this one to be superb. Oh...and Brian's hair doesn't turn me off in this one either!

During those few episodes leading up to 507 I remember wondering "when the hell did Brian & Justin go wrong?". It didn't seem clear to me and I didn't understand how they got to the point where Justin was leaving Brian. In season 4 they were so *in tune* with each other and it seemed that suddenly that was all gone. I just can't watch season 5 any more. There's very little in it that makes me feel happy.

I know this breakup needed to happen. Intellectually, I can appreciate that. And by the end of the episode when they stop and talk briefly on the street, I can even start to see that it might even turn out to be a positive thing.

Emotionally, I still have a hard time watching Brian come home to find Justin with his bags packed, waiting to tell him he's leaving. I cry just thinking about it. It feels like despair and it's physically hard for me to watch.

So, overall, not good. But it still ranks above 506.
