Title: A Christmas Story
Word Count: 100
Prompt: Once Upon a Time
*****
Tell me a story, Daddy?”
“Once upon a time there was a lonely man afraid to love.He became a snowman so he’d be left alone. A boy came by and saw the man underneath the snow and tried to melt it. The snowman got angry! He kept his arms out so the boy couldn’t get close .But he was persistent, touching the snowman’s heart. That Christmas Eve the snow around the man melted. “
Brian smiled at Justin.”The boy taught him he could love.”
Gus sighed. “I’m glad the snow melted.”
“So am I, Gus,” Brian agreed. “So am I.”

Title: Home for Christmas
Prompt: Christmas Day
Word Count: 100
****
Christmas Day was a day Brian hated as a child.
It was filled with sadness.
No decorations adorned the house; no gifts sat under the tree.
But these days Brian looks forward to Christmas.
He wakes up next to Justin and smiles as Gus bursts into their room, eager for hugs from his Dads and presents from Santa.
These days his house is a home lovingly decorated, a tree with sparkly ornaments and brightly wrapped gifts.
Every time he sees Gus’ face as he opens his gifts, the pain from the past fades.
Christmas became a day that Brian loved.

Title: A Perfect Combination
Prompt: Like father, like son
Word Count: 100 words
***
Gus was the perfect combination of both his fathers.
Gus had Brian’s outspokenness and Justin’s courage.
He had Justin’s artistic ability and Brian’s head for business.
Gus had Brian’s laugh, Justin’s enthusiasm and a way about him that made everyone love him.
Brian remembered Gus’ persistence from Justin’s teenage years.
Gus saw love expressed from both his Dads’ towards each other.
They showed him unconditional love and Gus learned how to get and give love back.
Gus was going to be a success in love and in life.
Like father, like son.
Or in Gus’ case: like fathers’, like son.
