Brian glared down at the blond as his friends dispersed.
Brian Kinney did not do boyfriend. Or love. Or romance. Brian Kinney was certainly not part of a couple.
“What was that?” Justin asked again.
Brian sighed and began to walk again. Just for that Justin definitely wasn’t coming home with him tonight.

“What do you think I want with some kid who doesn’t know shit?” Justin asked.
Brian had to admit, he had a valid point. But admitting it would just make him look like he cared, that there was anything worth staying in
But Justin kept going on about it. How could he think that Brian would have wasted all this time on him if he wasn’t worth something?
So he let Justin cry on his shoulder as he faced the first great change of his life.

“I’m chaperoning the St. James prom,” Brian said, with a roll of his eyes, to the security guard. That was all it took to get in.
He’d thought that finding Justin would be difficult once he got there, but it wasn’t. It was unbelievably easy to find the most beautiful guy in the room, though he would never admit it aloud. And the shocked look on his face just made it all the better.
As he pulled Justin onto the dance floor and saw that smile he thought this might just be the best way to forget about his birthday.
