Challenge #43 - Christmas Lights
TITLE: "IT WON'T BE A LONELY CHRISTMAS"
AUTHOR: Doppelganger44
TIMELINE: Post-513
LENGHT: 2 drabbles; 100 words each.
Both condoms are for Kinney.
It’s a week before Christmas. Justin sits in the tiny living room of the apartment he rents out with Daphne’s friend in East Village. A box of Christmas decorations stares at him, waiting to be picked up; waiting to be hung and placed where they belong.
But he has no spirit. He just found out he won’t be able to go back home in Pittsburg for the holidays due to an exhibit he has been preparing for.
He stands up, walks over to the box; he runs his fingers on the ornaments and pulls out a clump of Christmas lights.

He’ll put them up anyway. He forces himself to move; the thought of not seeing Brian for another month’s slowing him down. The coldness of the city makes him lonelier each day.
Something special should happen tonight, he thought. At least have the tiny apartment looking festive and warm. He starts putting the Christmas lights around the windowsill when a knock on the door interrupts him.
Santa’d be more believable than the person standing in his doorway…
“Brian…”
Brian smiles; duffel bag in one hand.
“Ready to go Christmas shopping?” Brian asked.
It won’t be a lonely Christmas after all.
