The alley was cold and dark, spooky shadows followed him as he walked through the leaves and rubbish the windy night was blowing around. A scream shattered the silence.
He shivered pulling his lightweight jacket tighter around him, trying to ward off the icy feeling that had worked its way through to his bones.

His eyes watered as he stopped at the bottom of the stairs, hesitating before taking that final step.
