Okay, so I'm lightly tripping through the getithere community looking at what fics are trying to be found and saw a link for Southern Sunshine:
http://www.mags-nificent.com/MSW/Collaborations/SS.htm
Which is a collaboration between Thyme and Gina (I don't know Gina, but am familiar with Thyme.)

I admit, I should have known better, but it was late...

I kept saying I was going to quit reading it, as I pressed the mouse to click over to the next chapter, but I kept getting sucked in by the fact that everyone is evil in this fic -

Evil Chris Hobbes
Evil Craig Taylor
Evil Ethan Gold
Evil Cody (do we even know his last name?)
Evil Darren/Shandra Lear

A virtual cavalcade of evil. All with an annoying southern accent.

So I pose to you - what is the best worst Evil crack!fic out there?

(I did redeem myself by going over back and reading Gone by Triciaqaf)

Oh, I have read this before, but it's too damn long to even try to condense to save people the absolute horror and dismay effort of reading through the 6546513354 several chapters that make up this ongoing nightmare saga. *shudders* This one almost makes Grover's bedpan of love look good.

even worse, there's a sequel - thankfully I caught myself in time before I even considered reading it

There's a sequel? I am so grateful I didn't know that because I'm not certain I could have stopped myself from inflicting more of that story on myself.

LOL I started Amish!Justin, but never finished... maybe I should do that... yes? no? I remember being fairly entertained, but not feeling strongly that I should keep going (it had too many chapters!)

Damn, definitely don't have an amish!Justin icon...

I haven't read that much crack!fic, but I think evil bedpan-bashing!Ethan was pretty evil. I mean he shot Brian! And he was beating the crap out of Justin! And then he knocked Justin into a coma with a bedpan! And then he tied Brian to a bed and TORTURED him!! That's freakin Evil with a capital E... and that was definitely the worst piece of crack!fic I've ever read.

OMG I get to use my favorite icon!! *squeee!*

the WORST or the BEST? because really, on a crack!fic scale... it is the ultimate in insanity... i mean, see, my icon, and yours that's a direct quote from the fic!

lol you're right, in the crack!fic community Grover is like a modern Shakespeare or Melville or Homer and whatever that wonderful masterpiece was called is like the new Romeo and Juliet or Moby Dick or The Odyssey. It's the BEST of the WORST.

I can't remember who wrote this but someone here has to have read it. Ethan kidnapped Brian and kept him in his bathtub. He might have raped him but I'm not sure. No on but Justin was worried about Brian and somehow Brian sent out psychic distress signals from the bathtub and Justin found him. (There is a slim possibility I mixed up Brian and Justin and Justin was trapped in the bathtub).

Well, perhaps the gold standard in evil!Michael fic is Wren's "Experiment". I mean, he's essentially stealing money from Justin and is so insensitive to an already emotionally fragile Brian that he reduces Brian to tears....now that's evil. ;)

Hi,

I like well written, not too far fetched crackfic, so I've decided to read qaf_crackfic from go to woe (gradually, not all at once, obviously). Maybe this is a little presumptious of me given that I'm not even an Insane Journal user. And now I'm going to comment, which is even more presumptious. And this thread is almost a year old, so who's going to read my comment anyway. but just in case ...

I'm only up to chapter 4 of "Southern Sunshine" but I actually like it and am surprised about the negative comments on this page. It is reasonably well written, I don't mind the multitude of evil characters, Justin is totally OOC (which seems to be mandatory in crackfic anyway), and Brian is a little OOC, but it is good nevertheless. The characterisation is fine (even if OOC for Brian and Justin, everyone at least has a distinct character). At this stage I recommend SS.

IMHO - SS is certainly better written than a lot of other crackfic I've read lately. One which shall remain nameless concerns Brian and Justin in an alternative mental health institution. That should have been enough of a warning to me. I am prejudiced against alternative medicine admittedly, but the described situations had no credibility whatsoever. No one had what could be recognised as a genuine mental illness. They wore uniforms (? I can't believe that that still happens in RL). Patients are sometimes sedated and placed in solitary confinement (I know the padded cell still exists in RL, but I don't think the patients are placed in solitary confinement exactly - I understand things to be a little less draconian than that), etc. Brian and Justin were so OCC, they were barely distinguishable from one another. And there was much unecessary exposition (a common fanfiction problem). There was no need to include every QAF character, just for the sake of including them. Anyway enough of that.

I say give "Southern Sunshine" a shot !

Chrissie.
