Pink Elephant ?
OK, so I'm reading chapter 20 and this just demanded an immediate comment:
"Their afternoon together was great. It would've been perfect in Justin's eyes had it not been for the pink elephant that followed them around all day."

ROTFLMAO, of course not an ordinary elephant in the room, only a 'Pink' one will do because...you know...teh gay :)
