Third Annual Friending Party!


Welcome to the Third Annual FRIENDING PARTY!!!

It's that time of the year again and I couldn't be more excited!

So many fans start out as lurkers, and there is no better place to delurk than HERE! The Friending Party is a time to welcome new fans and a place for new and old fans to meet and get to know each other.

All you have to do is comment and if you want to, share a little something about yourself. To add a fun twist this year tell us your favorite scene or quote if you like. Then go say hello to all the other fans and don't forget to friend each other!

Last years Friending Party had 1624 comments... let's see if we can beat it!!!

I'm Red. I've been around since late 2005. I actually belong to several fandoms, but mainly participate in this one. I mod/maintain several comms, both here and on LJ. Besides QAF, I have participated in the Harry Potter fandom for about 7 years, still check out the LOTR fandom here and there, watched True Blood from the beginning, and recently have been marathoning Supernatural during the hiatus.

I'm loud, crude and socially unacceptable. I speak my mind and own my shit. If you can handle that, come by to visit sometime!

Hiya!

I recently got back into QAF, and decided to be more fandom-y this time. I've only been around a couple of weeks, and not nearly as much as I intended. Hopefully I'll be less busy soon and I'll be able to do fun stuff. I'd rather be reading about fucking than orthographic processing, that's for sure.! :D

I like to dabble in drabbles and icons (haven't made any recently though) and one day I'm gonna find the time and patience to write (and finish!) something longer than 100 words! My like of drabbles absolutely comes from my inability to finish anything longer. :-p

Hi, folks,

I'm Kari and I fell for the show in 2006 (wow, that long ago, really) when it started airing here in Germany. Quickly abandoned the bad dubbing, though. lol

The Potter Fandom was what brought my attention to LJ, so I ended up there. For more than one reason I turned to IJ at the beginning of 2009 and have hardly looked back, because the awesome people here rekindled my love for the show, and the flame has been burning bright ever since.

QaF was the first show that inspired me to write AND share. My muse long run off on me (she's probably on Ibiza, ogling hot men on the beach).
My creative juices turned to Photoshop instead and now I enjoy making graphics and an icon or two.

Friend away if you like. Apart from the occasional queen out I'm usually pretty easy to get along with.

Hey! I'm ET and I'm a newbie(ish) around here. I just recently delurked in 2009. I was lurking around for a while, and then decided to play with everyone-best decision I've made!

I first saw QAF in 2005, right before the airing of the final episode, and fell in love with it. I borrowed a friend's DVDs and then as soon as I finished the watching the entire series I bought my first season.

Favorite quote- well I have to go with the deeply moving speech from Ted in 114:

I learned about QAF through youtube while looking for a six feet under scene way back in 2007, became obsessed, and promptly netflixed the whole dang thing. Eventually found myself here in 2009 and, ta dah!, I'm now a Qaffer for life.

I use to write drabbles/standalones/etc. and have dabbled in crack!fic, but currently I'm museless and into posting weird thoughts.

Hello! I've been in the QAF fandom for a few years now. This is the first and only fandom that I've actively participated in. I was a lurker at first and so very shy about commenting, but I got over that when I realized how much more fun it is to actually participate!

Hello everyone! I've been in fandom since 2005 but watched the series since 2001. When the series was coming to an end in 2005 I felt the need to seek out other people who loved it as much as I do, and almost 5 years later I'm still here!

I enjoy making graphics in my spare time and reading fic but most of all I enjoy the company of everyone I've met through our shared love of QAF and Brian & Justin.

I'm relatively new to the fandom. I discovered the show about six months ago, and marathoned it in a very short time. I fell in love hard and fast! I started poking around LJ but soon discovered the real party was over here at IJ.
I've been in a few other fandoms for a long time (all sci-fi shows) but mostly as a lurker. I'm trying my best to not be such a lurker in the Qaf fandom because this is such a great and active community, it feels so welcoming and easy to try to be a part of it.
I'm not much for writing fics (reading them, however, I am quite skilled at!). I've recently tried making a few icons, and I may try to make more when I have the patience to figure it all out. So um, although I don't have much to offer, I'd love to have more friends on here!

I Discovered QAF in 2007 and from there I have never ever looked back.

Hi! *waves* I just discovered QAF and this fandom the summer before last, and I've been cheerfully obsessed with both ever since.

I came here in search of fics and discussion after finishing the series. I definitely found that, and so much more, the best being the wonderful people in this community. This really is a warm and friendly place - come play if you haven't already!

A favorite scene? LOL. For some reason, this one pops to mind, where Debbie's helping Michael clean the kitchen:

Michael: Ma, I asked for plain paper.
Debbie: Well, if you want to be boring, that’s your problem. But don’t inflict it on your poor kitchen. This way every time you open a drawer you get a surprise.

Come on out! I am [info]noteverything, formerly and sometimes still known as Tweedy. I have been a fan since 2007...I used to write lots and lots and lots of drabbles, and the occasional porn, but have found myself pulled away from fandom some in the last six months. I still love it though and have made friends that I will love until the end of time. I'm hoping to make my way back to having a good time here when RL gives me a break.

Hi there!

I'm Minxie. I started QAF in '09, thanks to finally listening to Red *points way up in comments* about the absolute need to watch. It took 8 days to freebase the entire series and I started writing fic before I even finished the watching. I actually play in several fandoms - Harry Potter, Stargate: Atlantis, NCIS, Criminal Minds - but QAF owns me. Heh.

I'm loud, crass and very often socially unacceptable. I speak my mind without thinking about the outcome and have no tact at all. Seriously. But I do like to have fun, so stop on by and say hello...

Hi Everyone!
My name is Glennie and I've been lurking since 2006 when everything was over at lj. In a way I kinda feel like I know a lot of you as I've read all your wonderful stories, comments, drabbles, challenges etc. I always felt the atmosphere here was friendly and inviting.

I discovered QAF six months after the show started. My oldest and dearest friend kept bugging me to watch it. So I finally gave in and after episode one I was hooked. It was crack and I was an addict :) After the show ended and the sho.com message boards closed I found my way to lj where I could still enjoy the show through all the fanfic stories.

So the other day I was looking around and saw a post about a BJ figure skating plot bunnie and I got so excited I decided then and there to finally come out and introduce myself.

My IJ is pretty empty I just created it a few weeks ago....
