Show-and-Tell: QAF Dreams
You tell me your dream, and I'll tell you mine...

Have you ever dreamed about QAF?

Did you used to back in the days of your earliest obsession? Do you any more?

QAF has found its way into my dreams a few times, mostly just quick sightings of one or more characters (I've spotted Brian and Justin a couple of times in a dream-crowd), but nothing really coherent.

But one did stick with me. It was just a few weeks after I'd started watching QAF, and was probably still obsessing over the end of the show.

It was in some gymnasium-looking place filled with aisles of wardrobe racks and tables full of props and other jumbled stuff. The dream had started in the midst of a movie shoot and morphed into the GLC, where people were organizing some sort of fundraiser.

I came in and was feeling really upset about something Toby Maguire had done (apparently back when it was a movie shoot) and Emmett was waltzing down one of the aisles towards me. He hugged me, called me Sweetie, and invited me to come shopping with him. I felt much better, and off we went.

The end.

What. It's a dream, not a fanfic. But I bet you can do better.

I'm sure I've had a few QAF dreams over the years, but I only remember two.

The first had Brian in a brown suit working in this really barren place with rooms that looked like cells. He kept getting deliveries of these really unusual goldish/rust colored roses that upset him. Turns out he was a psychiatrist in a mental institution and Justin had been a patient there and he was the one sending the flowers but no one but Brian remembered him, and it was starting to look like Brian was crazy. The fragments of that dream (after a few years and reality checks) became my story You're the One Vanishing.

The other one was about finding Justin and Ben in a car kissing. Brian and Michael both new about it and thought it was a good idea for them to have sex. I remember in the dream thinking it should bother me, but they looked so nice together that is was ok with me. They were very gentle and sweet with each other and knew it was just a friendship thing.

I vaguely recall having a couple of QAF-based dreams, but the only one I actually remember anything about was a quick scene with Brian and Justin on their bed. Justin was naked, and I could only see Brian's head, but as he was in the process of rimming Justin at the time, I'm not complaining much. (Though I do wish I'd been allowed to watch a bit more of their activities.) ;)

What a lovely dream! (Do you like Tobey Maguire as well? :D)

QaF characters feature regularly in my dreams and have for years regardless of whether I'm watching the show or in touch with fandom, or not.

At first it was always Brian, now it's Justin. I can't give you any dream stories unfortunately. When they're there, they're part of dreams that are so long and involved and strange that it's hard to recount them. But they are there, usually when I need them most.

It's because I dream about them that I know they're real.

Not really. He's ok, I guess ... though when I try to recall what I've ever seen him in, I'm not sure if I'm thinking of him or Jake Gyllenhaal!

No, I think he started out as Justin in the dream, but morphed into Tobey M because, obviously, Justin would never do or say anything so upsetting that I'd need to seek comfort from waltzing!Emmett :D

*staggers in slightly drunk to the party at midnight* Woah, I was going to post my dream, and then the weekend ran away from me.

I had a really vivid dream about a year and a half ago, it was vivid to the point of me still being able to recall what the various players were wearing. I was friends with the QAF Family and at some sort of family event. Brian and Justin called me upstairs to discuss something, then I ran out of the house and across the lawn, which was littered with my collection of icons, I vividly remember the one I used being there, and then I was running across dead birds (gross, I know, I'm sorry) and to a bus stop. In which Justin texted me a recipe for cookies.

Weird dream.

	OMG - You totally win the Most Dali-Surreal Prize!!! What a fantastic dream - and that you didn't lose the detail when you woke up! (Yeah, the dead birds are kind of ew, but getting to be a QAF Family friend - and getting a Justin-texted cookie recipe more than make up for it. :)) Wonder if Mysterious Marilyn does dream interpretation ... LOL! I think the funniest part is that this dream fits into the more or less normal category for my dreams. Every single one that I remember is weird like this one, (although the dead birds were not normal, I would be really worried if they were). When I woke up I wrote down a detailed description of the dream and then looked up some of the key words, and they were more or less accurate.

	I have to add something here. Since I nanowrimo-ed and wrote so much QAF fiction, I dream about them practically every day. Though I don't always remember and the storyline, well, I don't think they are so Fanfic-proof either. Yesterday, I dreamt of Michael getting straight. It started with him watching women all the time and was actually pretty funny... (Reply to this)
