"Yeah?" Reira stared at the girl hard for a moment before absently rolling back on her heels. She let out an exasperated sigh. "Between the slim possibility of looking like a thief and the big possibility of sounding nuts, honesty really would've been the best policy here."
Speaking of sounding nuts, Reira certainly felt like she was acting it. Here she was getting all worked up by a stupid pocket watch. She'd probably just seen it at Junes or at Murakami Designs or hanging off someone, maybe even whoever had dropped it on the sidewalk. It still needled away at her that she couldn't think of where she had seen it but it's not like she would care so much if it hadn't been for that dream. She just had to tell that annoyingly persistent part of her that kept going back to the dream to go fuck itself and leave her rational self alone.
