Minato had already checked over his paperwork for attending his new high school for his missed senior year (man, that still felt weird - he wasn't supposed to have a senior year, was he?) so there wasn't much of a point in coming to school too early. There were plenty of other students walking into the building and hanging out outside when he arrived and slowly began to cross the building entrance, one hand in his pocket while the other held his bag at his side.
His headphones were blasting a rock tune into his ears, though it wasn't so loud that he couldn't hear the noise around him. He stood in the middle of the walkway in front of the school, unintentionally oblivious to those around him as he stared up at the entrance.
One more year. It couldn't last much longer than that. He knew this was going to end. Still, it made him a little...happy. As long as it wasn't at the cost of the barrier weakening, this was pleasant. He only wished he could tell his friends. Contact them somehow.
He had their numbers, but wouldn't it just hurt them more if he called them up? He looked down at the ground and resumed his path towards the entrance. Besides, if they came here, they'd have to face shadows again. Would they want that? He wasn't sure. He knew they'd do it - that he had no question about.
