The question gave Haruto pause for longer than it should have. Did he like working here? He supposed it helped to fill the hours, gave him a focus and a project to occupy his meticulous tendencies. He could appreciate that. And the discounts weren't exactly bad either. He folded his arms and nodded. "I like it," he concluded pleasantly, keeping his reasons and his thoughts to himself as he watched Kaoru examine the books. He seemed genuinely interested and he could appreciate that too.
"It's hard to quantify," he admitted, beginning to glance over the neighboring books. Some of them had been lingering on the shelf for far too long and not all of them deserved it. "It's a matter of language and style and..." he searched for the correct word, but couldn't find it and settled reluctantly on, "substance."
After a moment, he smiled a little, "Not much of an answer, is it?"
