Who: Asami and Daisuke. What: Dinner catch-up. When: May 19th, evening. Where: Tonkatsu restaurant.
For dinner, Asami had brought them to a modern style restaurant with Western tables and chairs. There had been a number of probably inedible things in the window: plastic-looking bowls of soup, shellfish and pickles. She thought the wooden floor was so clean that it showed her reflection. The windows covered one half of the room from floor to ceiling and from it she could see all of Kamizaka. She looked at the tall stools at the bar too, not knowing how to look directly at her brother's discerning gaze.
She took hold of her free glass of water and drank to forget it. On the side were a few smaller deep-fried dishes they had chosen from the menu, which had been text-only and taken away with their order. Now she was cleaning her fingers with the wet towel each had been provided and eating her tonkatsu with the lacquered wooden chopsticks that had been resting in a black box.
"Speaking of presents, did you get me anything? What about dad? Mom?"
