chrissy and eddie survived vecna somehow, or there can be a completely au direction we go in where something completely non-upside down related happens, we can work on those details together. chrissy and eddie are still from two very different worlds, so they have a couple of conversations, smile at each other here and there before the end of school. they both graduate, and maybe they have one encounter where they admit to at least crushes, but it's just before chrissy is headed out of town for college, possibly nyc or close to it.
a few years later, chrissy sees an advert in nyc for corroded coffin playing in a fairly small venue. of course, she shows up. no more high school political bullshit, no more jason. we can implement upside down stuff or not, i want to play out that last encounter between them, maybe even just after they've realized they've survived as well, then see how it goes later, once they've both matured and "moved on."
