Of all the text messages Jason ever expected to receive, he never thought he'd get a text from Kate to come kill a spider at her dorm. He had been taking a shower, trying to clear his head, and when he got out of the shower and was getting dressed, he heard the beep of his cell phone, telling him that he had a new text message. Glancing at his phone, Jason was surprised to see that he had not one, but three new text messages, all sent within like five minutes of each other. All from Kate. She, apparently, had a spider in her dorm room, and was freaking out, and wanted him to come kill it. Jason wasn't entirely sure why she was texting him, and not her boyfriend, but he wasn't going to think about that at the moment. He was just going to get dressed, and text her back.
After returning Kate's texts, Jason had decided that he was actually going to go to Kate's dorm and kill the spider for her. He wasn't sure why, or what the hell he was thinking, but he decided to go. He'd been avoiding Kate for the most part, ever since the night she came over to play Tetris, and ended up falling asleep on his couch, in his arms. Jason had realized that he'd still been in love with her that night, and he wasn't able to lie to himself anymore. And then he fucked up and ended up breaking Nicole's heart, because he accidentally moaned Kate's name in bed with Nicole. Jason never ever thought he'd be that guy, but apparently he was. It wasn't the most comforting of thoughts, but oh well. He would give Nicole some time to cool down, and then try to talk to her again. He did still want to be friends with her, he just didn't think it was right to be with her when he still loved Kate. It wasn't fair to Nic.
Clearing his head as he pulled into the parking lot outside Kate's dorm, Jason parked his car in a visitor's spot and then got out. He was able to get into the dorm when another student exited, so he didn't have to call up to Kate's room to have her come let him in. He didn't think she'd be able to get off whatever piece of furnature she was inevitably standing on top of to let him in, so he was grateful for that fact. Taking the stairs two at a time, he finally got to her floor and made his way down the hall. Clearing his throat outside the door, Jason lifted his hand and knocked a couple times. "Kate? It's Jason, open up," he called, before shoving his hands into his pockets.
