Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
who: Nic & Jason
what: "Lovers" quarrel
when: Thursday evening
where: Jason's apartment

To be honest, Nic felt like the worst girlfriend in relationship history. She knew that wasn't true, but ever since the incident at the photo shoot, she felt sort of distant from Jason. Like she was missing out on some major part of his life, that he and Kate were more serious back in Mexico than either of them were letting on, and there was nothing she could do to fix her lack of knowing. If she confronted him about it, things would be even more awkward than they already were -- at least on her part. And she really didn't want to know, knowing that it would just question their relationship even more than she already did, but she couldn't help but be curious. Kate was fricking perfect for Jason and that caused Nic to worry something fierce.

So in order to put her fears on the back burner (at least for the time being), the blonde decided she would surprise her boyfriend with some Chinese. A night in would be nice, right? Considering it had been a week since they last went out. Once she made it back to her apartment and changed into a pair of boot cut jeans and a hooded thermal, she called in her order to their favorite Chinese restaurant, the man on the other end of the phone telling her her order would be ready in fifteen minutes for pick-up. Digging her keys out of her purse and flipping the lights off, Nic left her apartment and got into her car, driving down to the restaurant.

Twenty-five minutes later she was locking her car up, purse slung over one shoulder with a brown paper bag in the other. She trotted up the stairs to Jason's place, pausing before she knocked to brush her hair out of her face with her free hand. She then rapped her knuckles against the door. Inside she could hear Jason talking to Nightcrawler, and while his puppy did make her smile, his name made her shudder. Shaking her head, she plastered a smile on her lips when she heard the door open. "Surprise," she grinned, holding the bag of food up, "I hope you're hungry."

Jason could tell that Nic had been pretty distant lately, and he didn't really blame her. The scene she had witnessed between himself and Kate was probably not the best for her to see, them lashing things out and just arguing, but he couldn't stop himself once he actually saw Kate. Things just flew out of his mouth before he could even think about his girlfriend that was standing off to the side. And he felt like a complete ass for ruining her and Kate's photoshoot, he couldn't help that, either. But he didn't really know how to explain his and Kate's past to Nicole. Kate had been his first real love, and he was pretty sure he never fully got over her. Which just made him feel like a moron, because Kate obviously had gotten over him and moved on.

Pushing those thoghts out of his head, Jason made up his mind to give Nic a call later to see what she was doing. Maybe they could hang out, just relax together. He needed to put in some quality time with his girlfriend, otherwise he would be an even worse boyfriend. Moving into the kitchen to put some food into a dish for Nightcrawler to eat, Jason heard a knock at the door. Of course, the little pug went crazy when he heard the knock, running towards the door and barking and scratching at it. "Night, you little pain in the ass, get away from the door!" he called, laughing softly at the energy and excitement of the little puppy.

Bending down and picking up the dog, Jason reached for the doorknob and pulled it open, smiling when he saw Nicole. "Hey you," he smiled, leaning in to place a kiss on her lips. "I was just thinking about you, and was going to call you," he told her, opening the door further open and spotting the bag of food in her hands. "You're a godsend. I'm starving, and was contemplating ordering something in," he told her. Once she was inside and the door was closed again, Jason bent down again to put the puppy back on the ground. Nightcrawler hurried over to Nicole and sniffed at her for a few moments before he moved away, disinterested now that there wasn't a stranger outside. Jason rolled his eyes and laughed.

Turning back to his girlfriend, he smiled. "How are you?" he asked, taking the bag from her and moving into the kitchen again.

Returning his welcoming kiss, Nic directed her attention to the pug squirming in his arm and she reached her free hand out to scratch her fingers against his bobbing head. That little dog had more energy than Nic could ever wish for. Hearing that he had been thinking about her caused an even bigger smile to stretch across her features. Maybe she didn't have much to worry about as she thought she did. Moving her shoulders in an innocent shrug, she stepped across the threshold and into his apartment. "I'm just good like that," she teased, turning to look at Jason once more. She glanced down at the puppy sniffing at her feet and laughed when he turned and trotted towards the kitchen. "Good to see you, too," she called through her laughter at the little dog, shaking her head a bit as she did.

The blonde followed him into the kitchen after he had taken the bag of food out of her hands, dropping her purse off on the couch as she walked past it. "I can't complain," she answered him, stooping down as she reached Nightcrawler. She reached her hands out and rubbed the pup's sides as he ate, snickering when he made a noise that sounded somewhat like a growl, only not as intimidating. She pushed herself back up and moved to the sink, washing her hands off before moving back around the counter and leaning against it. "Just been working." Nic shrugged again, and clasped her hands in front of her on the surface. There wasn't any need to bring Jamie into the conversation, right? "How about you? Did you finish that project that had you busy last weekend?" Don't get her wrong, she had had plenty of fun without Jason, but it would've been nice if he had been there.

Jason smiled as Nic followed him into the kitchen, and he turned to look at her as she reached down to pet his dog. Turning to the food as Nic moved to wash her hands, Jason busied himself with pulling food out of the bag, setting it down on the counter. Moving around her, he grabbed two plates out of the cabinet, placing them on the counter next to the food. “I need a bigger kitchen,” he mumbled, furrowing his brow for a moment, before the features on his face cleared. “I mean, there’s absolutely no room in here to cook, should I ever choose to,” he laughed, then shrugged. “Oh well,” he said, opening the containers of food to see what she had gotten. “Mmm, yummy,” he smiled at her, reaching to grab her hand and pull her closer to him. He slid his arms around her waist and gave her a smile. “Thank you for picking up food,” he told her, leaning in to give her a kiss. Jason cared about Nic, he really did. And he wanted to make things work with her, even though his head was a mess these days.

After kissing her for a few moments, Jason pulled away and placed a kiss on the tip of her nose, letting her go and grabbing the food. “Can you grab the plates? We can eat on the couch and watch tv or something,” he told her, carrying the food into the living room and setting it on the table. Nightcrawler came walking over and tried to get up on the table, and Jason pointed at the dog. “No, this food is not for you,” he told his puppy, then pointed over at the little doggy bed he bought him. “Go lay down,” he told him. The dog moved over to his bed and walked around in a circle a few times before sitting down, and then laid there. Jason smirked. “Good boy, Nightcrawler,” he told him, smiling. He was lucky, the dog was really good. Sinking into the couch, Jason glanced over at Nic. “Any requests for tv?” he asked, raising a brow.
