The Proposal. WHO: Keagan & Eric WHAT: Enjoying a baseball game. And a proposal. WHERE: Baseball stadium. WHEN: During the baseball game.
Eric had been planning this for weeks. He knew he wanted to do it, and he knew he was more than happy to spend the rest of his life with Keagan. And deep down inside, he knew that Keagan wanted to be with him too, and that she would accept. But the actual idea of proposing to Keagan scared the hell out of Eric. He didn't know why, maybe because he thought that she might turn him down. Tell him she loved him, but didn't want to take that step. He had no idea. All he did know was that he loved her more than anything, and that the only thing left to do when you loved someone as much as Eric loved Keagan, was to get married. And they didn't have to get married right away, it could happen a little bit down the line, he was fine with that. He just wanted to show her that he wanted her forever.
So, he planned. And he bought the ring. He knew how much Keagan disliked cheesy romantic gesture type things, so he planned something completely different than that. Instead, he decided he was going to propose to her during the baseball game they attended together. And, that day had finally arrived. Eric was a bundle of nerves, he was positive that Keeg could tell that something was up with him, but she hadn't said anything. The drive down to the stadium and the walk inside was made in almost complete silence, Eric going over the words he was going to say over and over again in his head. He didn't know. All he knew was that they were going to flash Eric & Keagan's picture on the bulletin board during the seventh inning stretch, and then they were going to show the words 'Keagan Sexton, will you marry me?' on the bulletin board. It was spontaneous, and Keagan had absolutely no idea. It was perfect.
Once they reached their seats, Eric turned to Keagan and gave her a quick kiss. "I'm gonna go get us a couple of beers," he told her, giving her a smile and then walking away. He pulled out his phone and called his contact to let them know that they were, indeed, there, and where their seats were. Grabbing a couple beers from a vendor, Eric made his way back to their seats and handed one of the beers to Keagan. "Good seats," he said, glancing over at her and smiling. "I'll have to thank my buddy at the station for them," he told her, his hand moving over to rest on her knee for a moment.
