Nic listened as he went on about her sleeping and she glanced down to her wife beater and pink flannel pants that had little scissors on them before she looked back up and shook her head ruefully. "It's fine," she drawled, reaching up to redo her hair, "I fell asleep on the couch watching some shitty movie on Lifetime. If you hadn't of come by, I would've woken up in the morning with a terrible crick in my neck." While that statement was completely true, she was also trying to let him know that she didn't mind in the least that he stopped by. Truth be told Nic had grown rather fond of Jamie and she liked spending time with him. Sure it was 2 in the morning, but time together was time together.
His reaction to her question wasn't missed and Nic bit down on her lower lip for a second. All the sighs and the general sad aura about him had her wondering if he and Kate had parted ways, but she didn't have it in her to ask. In Nic's head, Kate equaled Jason. Well, not so much equaled as her thoughts immediately went to Jason and...despite having initially brought her up, she just didn't want to go down that road at the moment. "Coffee pot's by the sink," she answered, waving in that general direction as she pulled herself up onto the counter, "and the coffee's in that cabinet." Narrowing one eye, she cocked her head and pointed at the cabinet directly left of the sink, offering a small, sleepy smile. She made a psfht noise with her lips and hooked her hands on the edge of the bar top. "I promise you're fine. And you're not an asshole, either." Nic had to admit it made her feel good her place was the first place he thought to go to, though she couldn't place why.
