How many crayons were there in a box? Claire's daddy had just bought her a really big box of crayons with just about every color in the whole wide world. The numbers on the front were a 6 and a 4 together, but she couldn't count that high. She could only count to 12 so far. However many there were in the box, all of her new crayons were very pretty and she couldn't wait to show them to Quil! Maybe they could draw pictures together? Or they could play a game! Whatever they did, it was sure to be very fun. He was her best friend and the most fun person to play with that she'd ever met. Even more fun than all of her friends at preschool.
The little girl was in her room, drawing pictures of flowers and hearts and rainbows. The sun was coming through the window and lighting the pages, making the colors stand out even more brightly. This made her smile. Maybe her mommy would hang the pictures up somewhere? So that way everyone could see the things that she drew! And that would make them want to color with her, right?
"Mommy!" she called out, adding dots of purple to a blue flower. "When's Qwil coming?" Yes, she still had trouble pronouncing QUs. So it came out sounding like QW. But oh well. Everyone knew what she meant either way.
"I don't know sweetie," her mother said, coming into the room. "Soon, I suppose. He's always comes by when you get home." Mrs. Young sat down by her daughter and looked at the pictures she was drawing. "Are you going to show him all your pretty pictures?"
Claire nodded with a smile. "Yes, Mommy." She added hearts all around the picture of her flower. "They're all for Qwil!" He got to have all of her pictures because he was the best.
