"No, you did not." Tia told him. "Never." She knew how much he loved his work, how much joy finding solutions to scientific problems brought him. How could she ever tell him to stop? To tell him to spend more time with her instead? That would have been selfish of her, and when it came to Ben she was always willing to make sacrifices. "You're here now. How can I be left disappointed by that?" His lips were close, so instead of waiting for him, she leaned up to place a soft kiss on the plump curve of them.
"Yes, I do. But I was perhaps waiting for something new to have cut across your path." A look of surprise passed her expression. "Why would you ever be sorry for working? I'm not mad and no one's at fault, so there truly is no reason to be sorry. Besides, it's not as if we've run out of time to spend with each other. We're Immortals. Time is all we have..." She beamed at this small thought, at the thought of being able to spend eternity with Benjamin. Slowly, she uncoiled his arms from around her and pulled Ben towards the bed. She tugged for him to take the spot beside her and immediately, she felt herself relaxing. "So, what have you been up to down there?" she asked. "I hadn't heard of anythign exploding in a while. I've been contemplating if I should go down to check on you for a while..."
