Part 2
Ianto regained consciousness slowly. His blurry vision hovered on the clear tubing leading from a clear bag down into a needle in his arm. A frown scrunched up his brow and he licked his dried lips with an equally dry tongue.
"Awake, are you, Sleeping Beauty?"
His gaze moved grittily, pulling a soft groan from his parched throat.
"Sorry about that," Jack rose from his chair and approached the re-enforced glass wearing a smile that screamed his lie. "Didn't know you were so susceptible to heat." He tilted his head and let his stare burn through Ianto's silent bravado. "Any residual effects from those convulsions? No? Well, good then. Let's continue, shall we?"
Jack swept from the room without hearing, or pretending not to hear, Ianto croaked calling of his name.
^^^^
"Who are you Ianto Jones?"
Ianto had been staring up at the ceiling when Jack came back into the dungeon-like area behind his hidden wall. Nothing more. Just staring up. Seeing, but not seeing the cracks and pock marks that told a story of their own.
At the sound of Jack's voice, he sighed and turned his head to watch the older man. "Just a man."
Jack's heavy gaze roamed over him for a long moment before he said, "Somehow I doubt that."
He turned, leaving Ianto alone once more.
The jagged shards of his heart splintered into ever increasingly barbed poison darts leeching into his soul, Ianto's hands fisted at his side. "I'm sorry, Jack Harkness. So very sorry." The words came out as a whisper, his lips nearly motionless.

"Ianto..."
Ianto thrust deep within Lisa's willing body, thrilling to the supple way she moved against him. Her hunger for him had always been almost inhuman in it's appetite and he marveled that he was able to keep up to her souring heights of desire. Such need in her for him was the most humbling and gratifying thing he'd ever experienced in all his years. He would give his life to keep her safe and at his side.
Her cries of ecstasy rained love in his soul, drawing his own completion from deep inside. His own cries blending with hers until...
The grip, like a vise, Ianto felt his arms crack, splinter, crumble under Lisa's cyber-strength as she lifted him high over her head. Another crack. His back shattered against the metal plating of her leg as she crashed him down over it.
Light exploded in his head.
Screams.
His.
He stared at the bloody body. At his bloody body. The conversion had failed and he...Oh god, Lisa cupped his brain in her hand shoving it inside her own head to...
Jack laughed as he died again and again.
Ianto raised his hands to stave off the killing lead, but the bullets slammed into his body, rattling his length like a baby would shake a rattle.
Ianto screamed.
Screamed.
Until his eyes snapped open.
A dream.
Only a dream.
He rolled over on his side, shaking uncontrollably and pulled his legs up tight against his chest. The tears scrubbing his face flowed for a long time.

"Ianto's not at his flat."
Ianto heard Gwen's words, but they barely registered.
"Maybe he went on holiday." Jack's voice sounded disinterested over the speaker system.
And why wouldn't it. Jack was well and truly done with him. Or would be once his questions were answered.
"I'm worried about him, Jack. Think I'll do some checking around. See if I can track him down."
"Leave it alone, Gwen. He'll turn up when he's ready to."
Ianto could hear the "Or not..." in Jack's voice. Would she?
"And if he doesn't?"
"Go back to monitoring the rift, Gwen. If you're worried, I'll look into it."
Ianto heard the click of the speakers shutting down.
He knew Jack had wanted him to hear what he had. Probably manipulated Gwen to get worried as well.
He gave a resigned snort of laughter and closed his eyes.
The dreams couldn't be any worse than the reality he was living.
