It's been ten years since the fall of Voldemort and the Wizarding World is once again at peace. Beauxbatons, the french Academie de Magie, and the idyllic Wizarding town of Beauxcoteau saw very little of the war, but even their slight unease has passed. Things have returned to normal within the walls of the school.

Normal, but never boring. Death might not be hanging over their heads, but failure, humiliation and social ruin are. The students are struggling to find themselves, forge their futures and avoid the sometimes cruel atmosphere of school. They are falling in and out of love, trying to keep peace with their siblings, and attempting to live up to the expectations placed on them. And then there are the students who don't want peace, don't want to grow up and refuse to follow anyone else's rules. There are Quidditch games to win, dances that require dates and tests to study for. Normal? Maybe. Boring? Never.

Academie de Magie is a brand new game now accepting applications. Game play will begin on Wednesday the 13th!

"Some places just seem to be that way. You know, mystical hot-spots… The Devils Triangle; Sedona, Arizona; New Orleans; Stonehenge; places where strange things just seem to happen. I never used to think much about any of that, I thought it all was all bunk, the work of fiction or an over active imagination (Maybe too much pizza before bedtime.). I never believed any of it before I moved to Seattle. Never thought any of it could be true until I bought a renovated condo in the Old Town Towers. But not even the things I saw there could prepare me for what happened underground. Now, I know things like ghosts and werewolves and such can’t exist. But what about that housekeeping woman that walks through walls, and one time walked right through me? Or that creepy pale guy in D5 who always smells like blood (or the woman beside him that always smells like garlic)? Strange howling sounds, terrified screams, disappearing pets..."

PREMISE

This is how the world falls apart.

It starts eighteen months ago. The legislation that requires all metahumans to register is hotly debated, but passes in the end. Medical testing commences - genetic rights are forfeit. There are whispers of a cure, but it's too late. Those who resist are neutered, their powers stripped from their blood by vaccine or branding. Metahumans protest, demonstrate, and things are turbulent, but can still be salvaged.

Then the Sentinels come. With labels from Stark Industry, technology stolen, revamped, used against us. Public executions begin, of high-profile Metahumans. Wayne Academy collapses under its own political weight. The Hero Network, an organization of metahumans from every walk of life, sinks into the shadows to defend its kind.

And then the prisons open.

Now, August 2009, there is no defense. There is no escape. We will hide, we will run, we will try our hardest to survive. But we will still be betrayed, see each other at our worst, fight our hardest. Join the fight. Pick a side.

Mischief Managed is an original character, contemporary Harry Potter RPG currently seeking talented writers. We are a unique community of original characters that still respect the canon laws of the Harry Potter universe. We value in-depth character development and mature writers (Mary-Sues and self-inserts will not be considered.) This is an HP board for dedicated writers and storytellers that enjoy collaborating with their fellow 'students' to create their own history.

We welcome people to apply for professors, as Mischief Managed is one of the few boards that holds active classes in any and all Hogwarts subjects, but we are also looking for students of all houses and ages (especially Ravenclaws and Hufflepuffs!)
