IT WAS TOO LATE

The world has changed drastically from that of what anyone remembers, and it is far worse than anyone could have imagined. Though for a few months the right wing evangelicals swore up and down it was the second coming of their Lord and that they had been warning of this very day for so long. For the FOH (Friends Of Humanity) this was just the outcome of the human race working too slowly to purify the world of it's messed up DNA. For those sane enough to understand what was going on, to really see the truth behind the mess of the world - it was just another day for the world to end. Another day to be a hero...except that day stretched into years.
THE GAME

If you miss comic based X-Men, and enjoy mature (often dark themed) game play, then this game might be exactly what you've been looking for in an X-Men RPG. We're looking for active writers with active imaginations and a willingness to work well with others.

Don't think you have to be a mutant, if you have a dark side that has always wanted to rip into the mutant DNA just to see what really makes them tick, maybe you'd be more happy with the Purifiers - who seem to be very happy raiding and slaughtering when they aren't experimenting.

PREMISE

boom·town: \ˈbüm-ˌtau̇n\ - Origin 1896

1. noun: a town enjoying a business and population boom.
2. slang: the proverbial location for sexual intercourse.
3. proper noun: the place to find your favorite heroes.

Three men walk out of a bar. Into a cavalcade of photographers, reporters, and fans waiting with autograph pads, screaming and reaching for a piece of their clothing. The bartender is already giving a full report of exactly what they drank, who had one too many, and exactly what ladies got placed on the attention list. This is just like any other Hollywood scene, except for one important difference: these celebs don't get hustled into a limo to escape, and this isn't LA. This is Boom Town, and the limo is one 'up, up, and away' from the open night sky. Granted, flying while tipsy isn't advised, but it's better than beating the paparazzi in the face with a camera. Some things you just can't blame on super villain brainwashing.

Yes, Boom Town. Where the spandex-clad (or not so very) go to hang their hats. From the outside, it might look like any other bustling metropolitan area. But the districts of Boom Town are laden with heroes, whether they know it yet or not. Each school, hospital, movie theater and county fair is destined to push out more suspiciously heroic activity than the annual Fireman's Kitten-Rescue Relay. Of course, where the heroes gather, so follow the press. The people so well known for saving the collective tushie of the world are hot and marketable, and often quite photogenic. While some heroes manage to slip past unnoticed, there are always the media hounds who keep the city hopping.

Where go the heroes, of course, go the villains. There can be no rest for the wicked, after all, and they need a place to keep their spare dental extraction equipment, too. (At rent controlled prices, if possible.) To help keep the balance, Boom Town scientists have created hubs, so that they can travel to and from any major city to address these evildoers at a moment's notice. It's also really handy if they've forgotten that pesky anniversary present. No one's memory is perfect! (Except for The Amazing Elephant, but that's another story.)

Come, learn how the better half live. No one can truly resist the urge to know what color underwear their favorite saviors sport underneath that skin-tight spandex, after all. The newshounds are here for a reason - they know a great story when they see one. But don't let them fool you, it takes more than the super-famous to keep a city running. Everyone has to pay their bills, take out their garbage, and get their groceries, no matter how many world leaders they've rescued from intergalactic kidnappers. Every cog in the massive machine that is Boom Town has its place, from the working stiffs to the elegant A-listers. The stories are generally a whole lot more interesting than what the paparazzi is reporting, too. A camera lens, however sneaky, can only see so much. And when you're dealing with heroes and villains, there's always more than what meets the eye.

So you're interested in Spectrum Divided?
(where you twine your destiny with that of others and make your own ending)

Spectrum Divided is a Marauders Era Harry Potter based roleplaying game. But it's a little different from most Marauders Era games. It starts out with the characters as they were in the school year of 1975-1976, the Marauders' fifth year in Hogwarts. But from there on up, the players build history as it happens. Your character can develop how they please, whether it's the same as the books or different - it's all up to you.

The game consists of the usual communities, including a main gaming community for everyone, but with a bit of a twist - there is one community for Death Eaters and supporters, and one community for the Order of the Phoenix and supporters. These communities are friends-locked to only people in those communities, so you can hatch secret plots and plan raids on the other side. This game plays like a war...but with less killing.

WE HAVE STARTED!
The game has opened and we have started the chaotic plots! Come one and all, there is still time to join in on the fun! So many open characters still left to be filled, so much plot and mysterious things going on.

Spectrum Divided is currently seeking several characters, including several school-age Death Eaters, Andromeda Black, Rita Skeeter, Edgar Bones, a sister to Death Eater Gibbon, a brother to student Selwyn (death eater), Caretaker Pringle (secret death eater) and his new assistant Flitch, Professors, and many others. We're especially seeking Order of the Phoenix members in the school. Adult characters who are out of school are welcome, and we have ample plot for characters both in and out of school.

It's been nineteen years since the end of the war. None of the students currently attending Hogwarts have experienced war thought their parents were there when the war ended. However, they don't know much about the details as their parents and grandparents don't really like to talk about that time. The students of Hogwarts have no clue how lucky they are to have the carefree existence they experience today. They go to school and make friends without too many concerns. While students are still sorted into the four traditional houses, students no longer go to class with everyone from their house. Each class is evenly split between the houses so as to encourage inter-house relations. Of course, some of the old prejudices still reign, but they aren't as openly voiced as in the past. And while, the Muggle world has made advances in technology, the Wizarding world has kept to their traditonal devices even though their ideals have changed.
