&netherworld;

As it is known to mankind now when death grips a lifeform they perish and are sent into the earth where they will reincarnate into something beautiful and provide the world with the always looping circles of life and death. But, what if those always interlocking circles were bent and broken apart leaving the Valley of the Light forever separated from the Land of the Dead never to continue on the chain reactions of life, death and reincarnation. However this does leave the question: Where does one go when they die if these linked circles are torn apart? A question that has a solution only known to those who have passed on to see their new land.

Enter the Netherworld.

A sub-world once connected to the state of the living, the Netherworld is an area with many realms all connected to each other by strange portals. Although the Netherworld in itself is mostly a neutral land, there are certain realms that seem to be more of a threat than the others. It is true that to be in this world one must be dead and therefore shouldn't have the need for fear of any things that could be even remotely ominous - but with death comes fear and with fear comes pain. Dead one might be, food you may not need but even in the Netherworld blood and pain are as real as the living.

There are four different realms joined together in the Netherworld, each one with their own creatures native to its grounds - it is up to those in the realms to decided for themselves which creatures are friend and which are foe. Judge not by their looks entirely for such things can be deceiving. Shelter can be found if you look hard enough in areas such as caves, and holes. They can even be built if one is creative enough to try. Food and drink are not necessities in the Netherworld as there is no hunger to be felt. There is only one large difference between the living and the dead carried into the Netherworld - the dead have no hearts. The similarities are as simple as if one is cut they will bleed and feel pain. Cold and warm tempuratures have effects on the dead although it is minor. Injuries sustained in death are carried over into the Netherworld as permanent scars.

There is but one rule to the land that allows you to pass through realms so freely: the dead cannot visit the land of the living under any circumstances. The living may, however, visit the dead. Perhaps - if one is lucky enough to be called by the living for a meeting, that is.

JH Corporation: An Original Sci-fi RPG

This games opens officially on Wednesday Feb. 13th (weird day, I know), but feel free to post once a member.

It began with prosthetics...
Ways to repair humans physiological functions, augmented or replaced, by electronic or electromechanical components. By rewiring nerves, or flexing another muscle, one was able to control a bionic appendage that made it possible to live a normal life. That opened the floodgates to approving Stem Cell research, generic cells that can make copies of themselves, and eventually those geneticists learned ways to not only create organs.. but skin. Brain matter. Emotions.

Many people didn't think it was possible to create an artificial person, and have it perform human tasks as efficiently as someone trained all their life to do the same job. Sentient machines, Bionic Technology, and Human-like "robots" increasingly took on the less extravagant occupations of man. It was a concept that slowly made its way into the minds and lives of the world. Most notably, Japan where it flourished and was refined into a scientific art form. It was believed that one could make a unit think. And they did.

They even made them feel...
The year is 2025

LOST RELICS
a canon post-deathly hallows rpg
opened on february 1st

It is the year 2000, just two years after the final battle at Hogwarts. The wizarding world is still rebuilding from the fall of Lord Voldemort's reign, and although many believed they would finally have peace at last, it is not to be. Death Eaters have been able to lie, cheat, and bribe their way out of being jailed in Azkaban - and some select few have reorganized in secret to continue the Dark Lord's goal. They, however, did not agree with Lord Voldemort's ways; accepting anyone less than a pureblood was hypocrisy against their cause. Not wanting their work to be confused with Voldemort's old followers, they have given themselves a new name, in honour of the Dark Lord's original cause - the Walpurgis Knights. The Knights have worked their way into the Ministry of Magic, slowly taking over until finally controlling the Minister of Magic himself from behind the scenes, manipulating him to their will.

But not all was going according to their plans. Just as mysteriously as magical powers appeared in this world, so too was it beginning to vanish. Wandless magic was the first to go, and is now completely unheard of. Soon after, powerful spells began failing, but no one had thought anything of it at the beginning - powerful spells were often complicated, and therefor did not always succeed. It was after this that more severe cases began to be noticed - although more and more cases were recorded beforehand, since March of 1999, there have been no children born with magical powers, regardless of blood status. It has been discovered, however, that spells and items created with ancient magic seem to have preserved themselves, and now the race has begun to obtain these artifacts to either save the wizarding world... or destroy it.

Revamped. Retooled. Relaunched 2/4/08

February, 1998. The War is finally over. Harry Potter emerged victorious, Voldemort is defeated and gone forever.

Or is he?

Mockery is an alternate universe Harry Potter RolePlaying Game, set nine months after the final Battle of Hogwarts, where Harry defeated Voldemort. Hogwarts was so badly damaged after the final battle that it could not be repaired in time for the 1998-1999 school year. Those students in their fifth and seventh years were given the option of sitting for their OWLs and NEWTs at the Ministry so as not to have to wait for the school to reopen in September of 1999. Many of those who were in their seventh year have already begun to move into their chosen professions, or into roles they've chosen based on things that happened during their final year of Hogwarts.

Mockery follows the lives of all those who survived the Battle of Hogwarts. Who helps to rebuild Hogwarts and wizarding society? What happens to Harry, Ron and Hermione? Where is Draco Malfoy? Did Harry really defeat Voldemort, or did one Horcrux slip past everyone--where Voldemort's twisted soul waits for the chance to rise again?
